The highly anticipated fifth book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, may not go on sale until Saturday, July 21, but local bookstores will be celebrating Friday night. Both Barnes & Noble on Ray Road and Borders on 54th Street will be hosting Harry Potter Parties and will be staying open through midnight (when the book officially goes on sale.)

So grab your brooms and your Quidditch robes and make a night of it! If midnight is past your bedtime, you can have Amazon.com deliver Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows right to your door.

WHAT: The Sage Foundation for Health will host the 2007 Red Ball
at The Phoenix Art Museum. Arizona’s influential and dedicated benefactors will enjoy an exclusive evening at the museum’s Rembrandt exhibit; emcee and nationally renowned stand-up comedian Kevin McDonald; fine European dining from Santa Barbara Catering and live music from The Dianne Lindsay Band and Hamilton Elementary Children’s Choir. The evening will also include a live and silent auction featuring items such as a European getaway for two and a private movie screening with actor Jason Wiles of NBC’s Emmy Award winning television show Third Watch.

WHY: This Summer, Murphy Elementary School will break ground on The Welcome Center, a 16,000 square foot education and health center scheduled to open Spring 2008. Serving nearly 900 children per year, The Welcome Center will expand The Sage Foundation mission to benefit the unserved, underserved and indigent people of Arizona with FREE quality natural and conventional healthcare.

Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee's 31st Annual Easter Parade and Carnival!

The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee will be putting on it's 31st annual Easter parade. This fun family event will be held on April 7th.

There will be marching bands and floats in the parade, as well as many other exciting things. The carnival will be entertaining and will have many fun events, such as dancing done by local dance companies, youth activities and even more!

Anyone, including businesses, youth groups, families, non-profit organizations, people on bikes or walking etc., can sign up to be in the parade or carnival. Who Says You Can't Have Fun In Ahwatukee?

Ahwatukee Comedy Club - where laughter is spoken is located at the Best Western Grace Inn Hotel in Ahwatukee and is again presenting an evening with clean and funny entertainment.

2007 marks the beginning of Ahwatukee Comedy Clubs 3rd year in existence. To celebrate this and as well celebrate the New Year the January 12th lineup of comedians will bring the audience to the floor with 100% laughter.

The evening is hosted by Tom Grayson who also is the producer of International House of Comedy. As usual there will be at least 3 funny comedians performing this night. One of them is Kelly Hunt. She has been performing at the club several times and needles to say the ladies in the audience loves her. She always bring some new stuff to enjoy.
